DESCRIPTION: HOW STRANGERS MEET is a visual narrative of a one night stand, by Davao-bred artist Aidx Paredes (b. 1994). Captured during a sabbatical in Thailand, this series depict the sexual encounter without an expectation of further relations. It is a collection of black and white photographs taken using an old, automatic film camera, hand developed during a workshop in Manila.

"Once the mystery of the evening has given itself away and expectations have been stripped and discarded on the floor, a one-night stand is nothing more than a detour taken by carnal desire. Luckily, Aidx Paredes followed his and took photos along the way. What‘s surfaced is a collection of black and white photographs, where transience and detachment are captured along with a tangential connection made in Bangkok." — TEAM Magazine

"Finally, a show about the queer gaze." — AG De Mesa, ReadingPhotographs
